It was yet another loss due to nature as no fewer than 65 houses were destroyed in Umudike, Ossissa communities Ndokwa West/East Local Government Areas of Delta State, after a torrential rainfall.
Report says the rain was accompanied by windfall that lasted three hours, with six persons also injured.
The traditional Prime Ministers in the communities, Chief Onotu-Uku and Chief Joseph Eloke Adibeli, said: “65 houses, thousands of plantain belonging to eighty-six victims, including other cash crops such as coconut trees, pepper fruit trees, water boreholes facilities were destroyed; roofs of the affected buildings were pulled-off, the victims are now homeless”.
Similar rainfall had destroyed several houses last weekend in Alifikede, Agbor areas.

But Onotu-Uku while appealing to the State and Federal Governments to come to their aid, said that the disaster had thrown the residents, particularly the victims into untold hardship.
